Severino Morlin Biography

Severino Morlin was born in Nove (VI) on 4 December 1934 and is the second son of Romano Morlin and Agnese Baron. He grew up and spent his youth in the environment of local ceramists. He enrolled at the Nove School of Art. He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice , where he was a student of artists such as Cesetti and   Guido Cadorin . He delves into the human figurative and anatomical aspect, also dedicating himself to painting by experimenting with techniques (oil, watercolour, acrylic, charcoal) on different supports such as paper, canvas, wood. Among the genres he prefers and specializes in the study of the human figure and in particular the portrait, which over the years will become his strong point and will make him appreciated in Italy and abroad.

Severino Morlin delves into current social issues such as youth discomfort, with a sparkling technique, capable of striking with its bright tones and the scratchy and incisive structure of the sign. His versatility due to his youthful artistic experiences, linked to the world of ceramics, allows him absolute control of the form. Especially with sculpture, Severino Morlin manifests the joy of manipulation, the ability of the eye and intelligence to create current and incisive expressive and communicative forms, the result of highly intimate research. Of the   1954   it is his first collective exhibition of young painters at the   Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation . Severino Morlin currently works in a small treasure chest of history, expertly recovered and equipped as an atelier, the seventeenth-century mallet in via Segavecchia in Nove (VI).
