Muccini Marcello (Rome, 1926-1978) Marcello Muccini created the GAS (Gruppo Arte Sociale) in 1945 and subsequently founded the Portonaccio Group. In those years he established his first contacts with the neorealist exponents of Cesena and with Alberto Sughi. From 1948 he began an intense exhibition activity, exhibiting at the Venice Biennale, holding solo exhibitions in Rome, winning the Saint Vincent Prize. He was also present at the VIII Quadrennial in Rome and until the 1970s he was involved in many exhibition commitments in Rome and in various Italian and European cities. Muccini's painting is characterized by tendencies linked to realism and a vague expressionism.
