Mario Mulas Biography
Mario Mulas was born in 1938 in Lonato. At the age of 19, in 1957, he moved to Milan where he worked as assistant to his older brother Ugo Mulas, a well-known post-World War II Italian photographer, for four years. Subsequently, he became a stage photographer at the Piccolo Teatro in Milan in collaboration with the director Giorgio Strehler.
In the 1960s Mulas began a collaboration with l'Espresso, enriching with his photos mainly the reports of the journalist Camilla Cederna. Later, he opened a photography studio specializing in advertising, industrial and fashion photography. Mario Mulas has created advertising campaigns for many companies such as Aquascutum, Olivetti, IBM, Imec, Commodore, Nixdorf, Colette and Sip, as well as having portrayed executives of large companies. He has also created calendars for Sip, various banks and rural banks.
In 1993, he worked for AEM on the publication of "Milano Illuminata". Mario Mulas was an important Italian photographer who left an indelible mark in the world of advertising and industrial photography.
