Vittorio Nobili is a designer who produced the Medea chairs for the Tagliabue Brothers in 1950. Produced starting from the 1950s, over time they have become an emblem of 20th century Italian design. Made of curved plywood and glossy polyester, they have a special double curvature of the wood. In fact, he had the courage and intellectual disdain not only to bend wood as, until that moment, only his Scandinavian colleagues had dared, but to name his experiments, in an extreme burst of playful spirit, after the heroine of mythology. Greek generally used to personify deception and cunning. In short, "Medea" suddenly became a chair with an unmistakable appearance. The Medea chairs were immediately liked, so much so that they were nominated for the Compasso d'Oro in 1956.
