Massimiliano Oddone, aka Max, was born on 26 February 1974 in Alessandria. Son of art, from a very young age he followed the artistic activities of his painter father and his sculptor grandfather. In 1993 he obtained his scientific high school diploma after which he enrolled at the University of Genoa, at the Faculty of Engineering. He combines his university studies with painting studies and participates in numerous national and international painting competitions and collective exhibitions, enjoying numerous successes with critics and the public. His pictorial technique, increasingly refined, is expressed, in recent years, with "scratched" and "engraved" canvases, in which the color applied with decisive strokes of the spatula stands out. His first solo exhibition in 2002 at the "Sala d'Arte e Cultura" in Alessandria entitled "Nonsoloastrato" represents this period well, where he exhibited around fifty works that tell his entire pictorial journey from figuration to abstraction. From 2002 to 2003 he made the decisive turning point with the transition from painting alone to works of greater depth in which the idea and the reference are put in the foreground.
