Carl Öjerstam, born in 1971 in Gävle, Sweden, is a Swedish industrial designer. He completed his education at the Konstfack School of Art & Design in Stockholm in 1997 and is currently employed as both an employee and a freelancer. He has also taught technical design both in Sweden and abroad. Öjerstam has been awarded numerous prizes and awards, including the "On Picnic" design scholarship from the company NoPicnic for his graduation project at Konstfack. Three of its products have received the prestigious international Red Dot Design Award. One of these is the Omni armchair, produced by Materia and presented for the first time at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2008. Öjerstam's design is also featured in several Swedish and international design books. Since 2002, Öjerstam has been the founder and owner of the company Carl Design AB, where he creates designs in a wide range of industries, including kitchen products, furniture, lighting and packaging, as well as home electronics. He also engages in architectural, exhibition and retail projects. Its clientele varies between small companies and world-famous brands.
