Olivieri Giorgio. Verona, 1937. Painter. After graduating from the Art Institute of Modena, in the early sixties he began his exhibition activity, intertwined with his teaching activity. The first personal exhibition was held in 1960 at the Novelli Gallery in Verona. In 1964 he began a fruitful exhibition career which would lead him to hold several solo exhibitions all over the world. In 1982, one of his solo exhibitions inaugurated the reopening of Palazzo Forti in Verona. Since 1970, after having developed a graphic heraldry with strongly contrasted colours, his painting begins to define itself originally: within an aniconic approach, centered on the absolute primacy of colour, his conceptual formulations are based on a rigor of character intensely constructive. From the mid-1980s the colour, subtle and very bright, acquired those modulations and shades which would later become characteristics of the most recent production.
