Otterness Tom (Kansas, 1952) Otterness Tom is an American sculptor, known as one of the most prolific artists in America. Otterness' works occupy parks, stations, libraries, museums in New York and other cities around the world. In 1994 he was elected as a member of the National Academy Museum. His style is described as funny and ironic, but also political. His sculptures allude to themes such as sex, money and race and the aesthetic of his works can be seen as a protest against capitalist realism. Otterness has exhibited his work in several locations throughout the United States and internationally. His studio is located in Gowanus Brooklyn in New York City.
