Pasquale Ottino, also known as Ottini, was born in 1578 in Verona and was a well-known Italian painter of the Baroque period, belonging to the circle of Caravaggists. He began his artistic training at the workshop of Felice Brusasorci together with Alessandro Turchi. In the initial phase, he worked in the master's manner, using various supports such as copper, canvas and stone, but then he dedicated himself to experimenting with different schools of painting thanks to his travels in Italy. He proved sensitive to the ways of Guido Reni, Carlo Saraceni and the Cavalier d'Arpino. Pasquale Ottino later died from the plague in his hometown in 1630.
