Bill Owens (New York, 1938) Bill Owens graduated in Industrial Arts and traveled for several years between India and Jamaica, becoming passionate about anthropological and social photography. In 1967 he began working as a photojournalist for newspapers in the "Bay Area" and created his first photographic project "Altamont" and subsequently "Suburbia". In 1976 he received the Guggenheim Fellowship and two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Owens subsequently undertook a long road trip to the United States, after which the work “A photographer journey: 115 days across America” was born.
