Ivos Pacino Pacetti was born in Figline di Prato on 2 December 1901.
At a very young age he moved to Genoa where he lived reproducing paintings by the ancient Tuscan masters.
He arrived in Albisola in 1920 and, the following year, began his activity as a ceramist at the "
MAS " (Maioliche Artistiche Savonesi) factory, owned by the lawyer Albarello of Genoa and directed by
Mario Ravano , dedicating himself to the "ancient Savona" decoration.
Despite a mutilation on his right hand he immediately demonstrated great pictorial ability and in 1921 he was called to work at "
La Casa dell'Arte " in Albisola Capo,
owned by Giuseppe Agnino and brothers Giulio And Angelo Barile .
In 1924 he moved to the "
Alba Docilia " ceramic factory
Adolfo Rossello in Albissola Marina, proving himself to be one of the best architects of the rebirth of the Ligurian ceramic tradition and imposing his artistic personality in all the new Albissola factories.
In 1927 he founded "
SPICA " (Società per Industria Ceramiche Artistiche) and hosted the sculptor Arturo Martini in his laboratories for the processing of some of his works.
In 1928 he was hired at "
ILSA " (Albisola Tableware Processing Industry) where, influenced for a short period by the futurist movement, he managed to combine the search for new shapes and decorations with the needs of industrial production.
In 1929/30, in the premises of the old "
Fenice " factory, he created the "
La Fiamma " factory, where he began his futurist production which he presented at the V Triennale of Milan in 1933.
In 1932 he left the management of "ILSA" and was appointed "National Head of Ceramic and Glass Art" by the National Fascist Federation of Artisans.
In recent years he has occasionally collaborated with the "
CAS " of
Bartolomeo Rossi .
In 1933 he presented one of his terracotta sculptures in monochrome silver and rubber tube entitled "Gas Mask" to the IV Sindacale of Genoa.
In the same year he participated in the National Union of Florence with a ceramic painting of a floral subject of great futurist-decompositionist impact and in the First National Futurist Exhibition in Rome.
Also in 1933 he won first prize at the III Artisan Fair of Florence, in the competition announced by ENAPI (National Agency for Industry and Small Business) for a coffee service, a service which was subsequently exhibited at the V Triennale of Decorative Art in Milan.
Once his futurist experience was over, Ivos Pacetti began to direct his manufacturing towards a more commercial production of great technical and formal value.
At the end of the 1930s he exhibited a ceramic panel with a realist flavor at the II Murale Plastic Exhibition in Rome.
In 1938 the factory closed.
In 1939 he was called to "ILSA" to hold the position of artistic director.
After the suspension of production due to war events, in 1949 he entered into a partnership with his brother
Renato and transforms the name of the factory "Fiamma" into "
La Tavola della Pupa " and in 1956, thanks to the brassy successes, he opens a new factory called "
Ceramiche Minime Fratelli Pacetti ", based in via IV Novembre in Albisola Capo.
In July 1958 he wrote a long article in n. 7 of the newspaper "Liguria" on the history of the rebirth of Albisola ceramics.
He died in Albisola in 1970.
