Nardo Pajella was an Italian sculptor and painter born on September 7, 1905 in Monticelli d'Ongina. Among his most famous works are the Monument to the Fallen of Seveso, the Monument to the Fallen of San Nazzaro d'Ongina, and the bas-relief of Saint Agnes in Milan. He also created the statue of St. Abdon located on spire G19 of the Duomo di Milano. Pajella studied at the Gazzola Art Institute in Piacenza and graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in 1930, where he was mentored by Adolfo Wildt. He participated in the War in Africa in 1936 and in World War II as part of the Alpini Brigade Julia. He married in 1938 and lived in Seveso, teaching at the Brera Art School. He passed away on September 14, 1968 in Seveso.
