Roberto Pamio Biography

Roberto Pamio, born in Mestre in 1937, showed artistic talent from a young age. In 1968 he graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of Venice, with a specialization in Design and Architectural Planning, presenting a thesis on sports facilities. The great success achieved in his work allowed him to come into contact with important Venetian figures of the 1950s, such as Emilio Vedova, Bruno Saetti and Gigi Candiani, who stimulated him to continue the search for his own technique and expressive mode. The experience in the field of industrial products led him to deepen his research and to use poor materials such as plastic laminate, iron and traditional local materials such as blown glass. In 2000, Pamio decided to open the Pamio Design studio together with his sons Matteo and Paolo, an environment that deals with architectural design, interior design and fittings, industrial design and image architecture. From 1983 to 1985 he held Architecture and Design seminars at the Ateneo Veneto in Venice for the "Parsons School of Industrial Design" in New York. Pamio died on November 25, 2021 in his home in Scorzè, in the province of Venice.
