Antonio Paolino Biography

Antonio Paolino, born in 1972, is a Ferrarese who emigrated to Switzerland as a child and, after having had success in the marketing field, decided to dedicate his life to artistic creation. He attended the Lugano Business School, which allowed him to subsequently work in the field of communication and marketing with important brands such as Motorola, Nintendo, Apple and Nike. However, over the years, he realized he had a true calling for art. Since 2006 he has exhibited artwork in London, Berlin and Vienna, among other places.
His abstract creations are folded and torn canvases, slightly protruding, which are halfway between Lucio Fontana and Agostino Bonalumi, although they are different from the two masters also in the meaning itself. The dialectic between these two forms of intervention consists in the violence suffered by nature, which nevertheless manages to survive and show itself. The actual tears that Paolino makes on the canvas reveal the hidden side of nature, its ambivalences and distortions, typical of the phenomenal level, as we perceive them, but also refer to the perfection and completeness of the whole.
