Silvia Papas Biography

Silvia Papas was born in Conegliano in 1969 and completed her studies at the Liceo Artistico in Padua. He began working in the field of fashion, set design and poster design in the 1980s. His art is strongly influenced by Pop Art and the experience of his frequent travels to the United States.
Since 1993, Silvia has dedicated herself exclusively to painting and her works are characterized by attractive and seductive female figures that represent modernity. In 2002, she founded the "4 Women Group" with three other women artists and they exhibited in Italy and abroad.
Silvia Papas' representations were influenced by the frenzy of contemporary life in big cities, with streets attacked by shiny cars and motorcycles and the chaos of the crowd. In his most recent works, the human element acquires greater breadth and spatial depth, while the chromatic layers mark the rhythm of his representations.
After a phase in which the investigation of the natural world predominated, the artist moved towards more severe and monochrome tones. Silvia Papas' women represent a shining vanguard of a society destabilized by its own well-being and reveal themselves, at times, solitary and dependent. Finally, childhood takes on a symbolic or surreal character in his art, in an "asexual" dimension.
