Parmiggiani Claudio (Luzzara, 1943) Claudio Parmiggiani is an Italian sculptor and painter. The artist pursues conceptual research, in which he focuses on the role of images and their emotional and cultural referents. He uses different materials and techniques, from photography to cast, from impressions to the assembly of antithetical elements, from fragments to crushing. His first real exhibition was organized at the Feltrinelli bookshop in Bologna in 1965, where he exhibited painted plaster casts, which the artist defined as sculpted paintings. His works have been presented in several editions of the Venice Biennale and in some of the most important international exhibition centers, such as the PAC (Milan), the Civic Museums of Reggio nell'Emilia, the Museum moderner Kunst in Vienna, the Center mèditerranèen d 'art of Toulon.
