Mario Pascutti was born in Turin in 1924 and from a young age he dedicated himself to painting. Starting from 1949, he participated in almost all the annual exhibitions organized by the "Promotrice belle Arti" of Turin. He also participated in two exhibitions of the "Gruppo bianco e nero", obtaining a medal in 1956 and the prestigious "Marcello Boglione" prize. In 1957 he held his first solo exhibition in the crystal room in Turin, presenting twenty tempera paintings. His painting is characterized by a solidity and formal clarity, and is appreciated for its pleasant coloring. Pascutti achieved a mastery of color as a self-taught person, through long and constant work of drawing and studying from life. He slowly eliminated all the obstacles that could have slowed down his artistic evolution, to refine his taste and technique and express his personality in a valid and convincing way.
