Laslov Pataky Von Sospatak was born in 1857 in Sárospatak. After his initial studies in Budapest, he moved to Munich, to attend the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1886, he participated in the Monarchy Exhibition in Budapest, where he exhibited his famous painting "Painting Service". This work of art is today preserved in the Hungarian National Museum. During his life, Pataky traveled extensively in Europe, exhibiting his works and achieving great notoriety. He also participated in the artistic life of Budapest, where he founded an art school and was a member of the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts. Laslov Pataky Von Sospatak died in 1912, aged 55.
