Pauly & C. | CVM - Compagnia Venezia Murano, a Venetian company, is an artistic glass factory in Murano founded more than one hundred and forty years ago. The name was born from the merger which took place in 1919 between Pauly & C., founded in 1902, and the Compagnia di Venezia e Murano, founded in 1866. The company also incorporated the brand of the historic MVM Cappellin & C, a company acquired in 1932 together with drawings and catalogues. In 1990 Pauly & C. | CVM - Compagnia Venezia Murano has also purchased the Toso Vetri d'Arte glass factory. Two generations of master glassmakers were trained in its glassworks, some of whom, after having learned the art of glassmaking and developed their own qualities, at different times, left to found their own glassworks and the main brands of Murano glass : such as Barovier, Seguso, Toso.
