Ignazio Pavon was born in Rome in 1790 and was a painter specialized in the art of burin engraving. Pavon was fortunate to be a pupil of Raffaello Morghen, a renowned engraver of his time, from whom he learned and adopted artistic techniques. His artistic ability has been demonstrated through the reproduction of numerous works by Italian masters of the 16th and 17th centuries, which have earned him mentions and recognition in the world of printmaking. Ignazio Pavon spent his life in Rome, a city that strongly influenced his style and artistic career, and died there in 1858.
