Aldo Pedrotti was born in Trento in 1905, into an irredentist and anti-fascist family. From a young age he distinguished himself as a very talented photographer, working together with his brothers Silvio, Mario and Enrico at the family photography studio in the city. His passion for mountaineering brought him closer to the milieu of militant anti-fascism, together with his friend Gino Lubich and other members of the Italian Alpine Club. After 8 September 1943, his opposition to the Germans became increasingly stronger and more decisive, strengthening relations with the Resistance, with Mascagni and the Visentins. In December 1944, Enrico "Marco" was arrested by the Gestapo and deported to the Bolzano camp, with the serial number 7463, while in March of the following year it was Aldo's turn, with the serial number 10649. Aldo Pedrotti he was released a few days before the end of the war.
