Paolo Perotti was born in Piacenza in 1928 and for several years has lived in Vigolzone in Val Nure, where he continues his artistic production. Paolo Perotti was born in Piacenza in 1928 and for several years has lived in Vigolzone in Val Nure, where he continues his artistic production. After attending the Gazzola Institute in Piacenza (1940-1946) and the Toschi Art Institute in Parma (1943-1946), where he obtained a diploma in decoration, he was a student of Marino Marini at the Brera Academy, in Milan. He has participated by invitation in important exhibitions, such as the Biennial of Sacred Art in Bologna, the Quadrennial in Rome, the International Biennial of Contemporary Sculpture in Antwerp. Among the most significant achievements was the First Prize for sculpture at the National Youth Art Exhibition in Rome in 1958. He presented himself with solo shows in Piacenza and Milan and in group shows also in Turin, Rome, Parma and Cremona. Countless important works have been placed in the churches of Piacenza, in the Province and in numerous other Italian and foreign cities. He has executed many public domain monuments, including that of Christopher Columbus in Los Angeles.
