Lucia Pescador Biography

Born in Voghera on 9 February 1943, graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, where she then taught at the Art School, Lucia Pescador has always favored drawing, working on themes related to nature, culture and art . He began exhibiting in 1965 at the Arte Centro gallery in Milan, now Lattuada Studio. She was part of the Metamorfosi Group in the 70s and 80s, working alongside her colleagues Benedini, Bonelli and Sterlocchi. He exhibited works from the 80s in the Milanese exhibition “Una nave per Kazmir” (Malevic) curated by Lea Vergine at the Refettorio delle Stelline in 1992. In the 90s he began collecting images and cataloging them for entries on art and culture of the twentieth century, entitled "Inventory of the twentieth century with the left hand" which continues beyond 2000. It includes: Art, Vases, Africa, Hotel du Nord, Hotel Meublé-Berlin, Tokyo, Architecture, The Papyrus of Ani , Iconostasis, Crete, Enigmistica, Atelier Stieglitz, Bauhaus. The various compendiums are exhibited both in Italy and abroad: in 1994 was the “Artefice” exhibition with drawings, hats, vases, carpets at the Lattuada Studio in Milan; in the same year he exhibited the “Papyrus of Ani” (drawn on tables of logarithms, with mountains and vases) at the Open Space Gallery in Amsterdam, an exhibition which was then transferred to the Egyptian Academy in Rome in 1996. He exhibited in Trieste (Lipaniepuntin Gallery ) “Hotel du Nord” (interiors taken from architecture and comics) in 1996 and “Enigmistica” in 2000. In 1998 he exhibited “Vasi Brocche Nature” at the Swan Gallery in New York and in 1999 he exhibited “Vasi in architecture” at the Italian Cultural Institute in Los Angeles. “Heart of Europe”, an exhibition inaugurated at the Ramba Gallery in Los Angeles, consists of the story of the historical avant-gardes drawn on old photos of landscapes and portraits. “Atelier Stieglitz” depicts the interior of the famous gallery with drawings of African masks and Avant-garde motifs, with old photos as supports: the cycle was exhibited at the Center Rops in Brussels in 2000; “Africa” was presented the same year at the Lattuada Studio. The exhibition that concludes the 90s is entitled “Change the time”, set up at the Olivetana Abbey of Rodengo Saiano, curated by M. Corgnati and R. Bianchi, and collects a large part of the Inventory. However, the artist continues to work on new entries such as "Nero Japan" and "Giallo Cina", staged by Corraini in Mantua in 2003; “Street walkers between the West and the East”, curated by A. Veca for the Spazio Bazar in Milan in 2005 and moved to the Galleria Camalanjan in Mumbai in 2006 and at the Expocasa in Shanghai in 2007. This was followed by work on two other items, “Cinema Roma ” and “East”. “Hotel Meublé-Berlin” and “Bauhaus” were presented in Cagliari and at the Stand Museum in Siegburg in 2005 and 2007, while “Caravanserraglio” was exhibited in Vigevano and Trieste in 2008. It proposes an installation approximately 20 meters long in the which describes the ancient Chinese and European landscape during the Visionario Fareast Film in Udine in 2009. In 2010, however, the “Wundernachtkammer” project set up in a room of the Napoleonic wing of Palazzo Te in Mantua, with masks, objects, drawings and photographic images, reproduced on acetate, of the city at night and its monuments, with texts by G. Belli; also from 2010, the intervention “Löwenstein Suite – Notturno” at the Trezzo Castle, text by Alberto Crespi. In the autumn of the same year he participated in the exhibition of the Scalemobili Group, of which he was part together with Angiola Churchill, Alì Farhazad, Annamaria Gelmi, Giuliano Giuman, Silvestro Lodi, Gianni Robusti, at the Lattuada Studio, with presentation texts by Cristiana Curti and Massimo Dona. This is followed by the exhibition curated by Cristiana Curti The rule of the right hand at the MAGI Museum in Pieve di Cento. From 2011 is the Wundernachtkammer Sogno Smarrito for the Carale Museum in Ivrea in an exhibition curated and conceived by Lorena Giuranna. In 2012 he held the exhibition Lo Scarto dell'ombra with Bonelli and Comenduni at the Quintocortile gallery in Milan with the presentation by Kevin McManus. From the same year is the Wundernachtkammer for Ettore Sottsass at the Lithos gallery in Como presented by Elena di Raddo with text from the catalog by Andrea Branzi. In 2013 there are four collective exhibitions in public and non-public spaces: 1966 – 76 Milan and the years of great hope, at the Bocconi University in Milan curated by Francesco Poli. The exhibition The Journey Continues follows, at the MAGA Museum in Gallarate and then at the Triennale in Milan. Rebel Spring, at the Revoltella Museum in Trieste and finally the exhibition at the Spazio Oberdan in Milan Rite, Costume and Paradox. The path of bread edited by Susanna Vallebona. In February 2014 the Interiors exhibition curated by Alberto Crespi inaugurated at the Lattuada Studio in Milan.
