Filiberto Petiti (Turin, 14 November 1845 – Rome, 26 July 1924) was an Italian painter and engraver. Born in Turin, the last of twelve brothers, to Giuseppe, Cabinet courier with Carlo Alberto, and Giuseppina Chiorando, Filiberto Petiti, having completed his technical studies, worked as a scribe. Count Filiberto Avogadro of Collobiano, his godfather, introduced him to the painter Felice Cerruti Beauduc who gave him his first teachings in drawing and watercolor techniques. Petiti appreciated the romantic painting of Angelo Beccaria and Carlo Piacenza who followed in the footsteps of the Swiss landscape painter Alexandre Calame.
