Pasquale Picazio (1947 - ) was born in Caserta in 1947. His career began at the age of fifteen when he began to create small landscapes on paper which were purchased by an English shipowner. He trained in Naples and later moved to Rome, the city where he still lives. In the capital he works in his studio and manages, together with other colleagues, the Margutta 55 gallery. Picazio is a painter well known for the technical ability of which he is capable, in achieving a total and technically perfect naturalistic rendering. The anatomy of the models is represented in every detail, but it is above all the details that determine the great truth and naturalness of the bodies: the softness of the complexion almost seems to suggest the tactile effect of the epidermis; the interaction with the surrounding space of the hair, which blends harmoniously with the atmosphere; the dosage of light, through which bodies blend naturally with the atmosphere.
