Donato Piccolo Biography
Donato Piccolo (Rome, 1976) is one of the most significant artists of his generation, both on the Italian and international scene. He lives and works in Rome. It is in a truly special context, where art, science and philosophy are considered inseparable and connected to each other, that the artist reveals his works to the public. Fog, clouds, steam, eddies constitute some of the artist's visual traces. A number of Piccolo's sculptures and installations seem to invite us to penetrate with the use of sight, the heart of a thick fog, in view of a fascinating and at the same time silent experience: a type of art that does not seek, according to the the artist, to replicate a potentially lethal phenomenon, but rather to transform a physical process into a mental state. The cloud is a constant figure, from which everything appears, happens and disappears again. It is the cradle of all things.
