Franz Xaver Pieler (1876 - 1952) was an Austrian painter, who initially worked as an interior painter and decorator, from 1911 he worked as a restorer and painter.
From 1891 to 1894 Pieler studied decoration and gilding, working as an interior painter until 1898 and then as a decorator until 1911, both in Magdeburg and Berlin. From 1911 in Vienna, he worked as an art restorer and painter. Read the full biography

Franz Xaver Pieler (1876 - 1952) was an Austrian painter, who initially worked as an interior painter and decorator, from 1911 he worked as a restorer and painter.
From 1891 to 1894 Pieler studied decoration and gilding, working as an interior painter until 1898 and then as a decorator until 1911, both in Magdeburg and Berlin. From 1911 in Vienna, he worked as an art restorer and painter. In the mid-1920s, he began creating independent works of art.
He painted almost exclusively flower pictures. An exception is his interpretation of Renaissance works such as "The Flight into Egypt" by Federico Barocci (a wedding gift for his daughter Helene on 14 September 1924).
