Stefano Pieri, born December 26, 1544 in Florence, was an Italian painter. Coming from a noble family from Parma, he worked as a guard at the Customs of Florence. He received his first training from Agnolo Bronzino, but subsequently approached Giorgio Vasari and enrolled in the Accademia del Disegno on 16 July 1564. In that year he participated, together with other young artists, in the solemn funeral of Michelangelo in Florence, of which some evidence is still present in the deposits of the Florentine Galleries. He subsequently followed Federico Zuccari to Rome, probably collaborating with him on the interior decoration of the Villa d'Este. The reconstruction of his catalog is based on two certain works present in the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence: the "Sacrifice of Isaac" of 1585 and the "Pietà" of 1587. Pieri died on 13 January 1629 and was buried in the church of All Saints.
