Pierrot Men (whose real name is Chan Hong Men Pierrot) born November 21, 1954 in South Midongy in Madagascar, is a Malagasy photographer. Born to a Chinese father and a French-Malagasy mother, he lives in Fianarantsoa where he runs a photography laboratory (Labo Men) with the help of his five children. Pierrot Men exhibits his photographs every year in major cities in Madagascar, Europe, Africa and the United States. The origin of his career dates back to his adolescence: he was first destined to paint, but he then turned to photography on the advice of a friend. In particular, he exhibited at the Rencontres de la photographie africaine in Bamako in 1991. He is also winner of the Leica Madri Jones in San Francisco in 1995 and obtained the gold medal at the Games de la Francophonie in 1997 in Antananarivo.
