Achille Pinelli was born in Rome in 1809. There is not much information about his life, but some biographers of his father Bartolomeo, who was also an engraver and draftsman, state that Achille followed in his father's footsteps by dedicating himself to the same art. Pinelli created approximately 200 watercolors from 1825 to 1836, which depict the facades of numerous churches in Rome and show the picturesque Roman life of the time. His last letter, written on 7 August 1841, reveals his hospitalization in the Hospital of the Incurables of Naples on 26 July due to an illness. Pinelli died on 5 September 1841 in the same structure.
