Fausto Pirandello Biography

Fausto Pirandello (Rome, 1899 – Rome, 1975). Son of Luigi Pirandello, after a brief experience in Paris, where he became close to the greatest artistic personalities living between the Twenties and Thirties, he became an exponent of the Roman School, however developing a style personal. The artist moves towards an honest representation of reality, even in its less pleasant aspects, through the use of a full-bodied pictorial material. The naturalistic data is however translated into a sort of magical realism of an archaic and metaphysical type. The artist approaches cubism, tonalism, realistic-expressionist forms. He translates the same spirit of his father into painting. Since the 1950s we have witnessed a change in his style which, starting from the models offered by cubism, passing through expressionistic mutations, reaches results halfway between abstraction and figuration. He participates in various exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, the Roman Quadrennials, some personal ones at the Galleria della Cometa, Galleria del Secolo, Galleria di Roma.
