Annalisa Pirovano Biography

Annalisa Pirovano was born in Erba in 1978 and attended art high school. In 2003 he graduated from the Brera Academy of Art, specializing in scenography. Subsequently, she collaborated as an assistant set designer for various theaters in Milan, including the Teatro Parenti and the Teatro Sociale di Como.
Her first experiences in the field of scenography made her discover her love for painting. In 2007 she participated in the Arte prize and was selected among the twenty finalists. In 2008 he began a collaboration with the Obraz gallery in Milan and participated in the collective Lo stato dell'arte. In 2009 he inaugurated his first solo exhibition, I Neighbors Don't Make Noise, curated by Mimmo Di Marzio and participated in the collective Undercover at the Wannabee gallery in Milan. Furthermore, she was selected among the twenty finalists of the Como Contemporany Art Contest award and participated in the exhibition at the Pinacoteca Comunale of Como.
Annalisa Pirovano is a painter of reality and places emphasis on narrative in her works that focus on everyday life. His technique is impeccable but the meaning of his works goes beyond style and reflects the struggle for power within religious institutions and domestic environments. His paintings depict young people with intact splendor who are immersed in a claustrophobic environment full of objects.
Annalisa Pirovano's painting evolves from reality towards a more symbolic dimension, with literary references and musical echoes. Despite the intellectuality of his paintings, the artist always communicates with the audience in a deeply open form. His painting is cultured and layered, but never redundant, an expression of a real communicative urgency.
