Pitteri Marco Alvise (Venice, 1702-1786) Marco Alvise Pitteri was a Venetian engraver. He gradually perfected his technique until he achieved a high position in the field of engraving. He also began to decorate the walls of bourgeois environments and only rarely produced works of his own invention. His production also includes book illustrations, for which he relied on the major masters of 18th century Venetian painting, such as Giambattista Piazzetta, with whom he created several series of engravings. He later produced a large number of works based on paintings by Pietro Longhi.
