Pierre Poggi (1954 - ) born in 1954 in Mont de Marsan, France, lives and works in Milan. His installations were exhibited in the Open XI 2007 exhibition – Lido di Venezia, and on various occasions at the “Castello Borromeo” and at the “Artoteca” in Milan. He has also exhibited in various personal and collective exhibitions in galleries in Italy, France, Poland, Austria in public spaces and private galleries. Pierre Poggi's artistic research has long focused on the theme of football in its most disparate social and cultural aspects. Through sculptures, installations and videos, Pierre Poggi's work takes on hermeneutic meanings from both the author's and the user's point of view. The artist represents football in the various "contaminations" that have compromised its playful aspect, perhaps at the level of "football entertainment". With operational and conceptual transference, football is the basic theme for representing contemporary social dynamics and themes. Putting the work into play, declares Pierre Poggi, invites debate.
