Ebe Poli Biography
Ebe Poli (San Giovanni Lupatoto, 20 March 1901 – Verona, 1993) was an Italian painter. He trained independently in Verona, where, having completed his classical studies, he dropped out of university to dedicate himself to painting. She made her debut as a painter in 1933 at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation at Ca' Pesaro, where she also exhibited in 1936, 1937, 1943 and 1949. She was present at the Bergamo Prize for the first and fourth editions (in 1939, with Paesaggio del Cadore and La nostra road; in 1942 with Riva degli Schiavoni). He participated in all editions of the Rome Quadrennial from 1939 to 1965/66, obtaining the purchase prize at the 1939 edition with the work Ulivi di San Vigilio - Garda. He exhibited at the Venice Biennale in 1940 and 1950, winning the Prize from the President of the Republic Luigi Einaudi for the work Orti a Torcello, destined for the Gallery of Modern Art in Rome. In 1951 he participated in the Burano Prize and the Michetti Prize, while in 1956 he was present at the Marzotto Prize. He won prizes at the Milan Biennale the following year. Among his personal exhibitions, we particularly remember the one at the "La Spiga" Gallery in Milan in 1949, presented by Orio Vergani. In 1977 he was again at the Burano Prize, where he received a gold medal for his forty-year contribution to the artistic development of the island.
