POLLONERA, Carlo. - Painter, born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1849, died in Turin in 1923. Participated in Garibaldi's campaign in 1866; on his return, he studied at the Albertina at the school of A. Gastaldi, AM Gilli and finally Fontanesi. In 1875 he made a trip to Paris. From 1872 to 1923 he exhibited continuously at the exhibitions of the Turin Promoter. He painted figures and landscapes and favored mountain subjects, which he treated with superficial breadth in light and green hues. His works can be found at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Rome and at the Civic Museum of Turin.
