Portoghesi Paolo (Rome, 1931) Paolo Portoghesi is an Italian architect, essayist and architectural theorist. He was the founder of the Postmodern movement, created with the installation “Strada Novissima”, presented at the Venice Biennale in 1980. Among his most important works he created Casa Baldi (1960), the Mosque of Rome, the Theater of Catanzaro, Piazza Chiaia in Parma. Today he is a professor of architecture at the La Sapienza University of Rome and has received the nomination of Ordinary Academician of the Academy of Drawing Arts in Florence and of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome.
