After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome he moved to Milan, where in 1922 he had his first painting exhibition and from 1924 he was director of the Higher School of Applied Arts in Industry of the Sforzesco Castle.[1] During fascism he participated in the most important exhibitions of the time including the first Rome Art Quadrennial and the Venice Biennale. Esodo Pratelli Biography

Esodo Pratelli (Lugo, 8 February 1892 – Milan, 4 January 1983) was an Italian painter and director. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome he moved to Milan, where in 1922 he had his first painting exhibition and from 1924 he was director of the Higher School of Applied Arts in Industry of the Sforzesco Castle.[1] During fascism he participated in the most important exhibitions of the time including the first Rome Art Quadrennial and the Venice Biennale. At the end of the 1930s, he made his debut in the world of cinema as a screenwriter and director, making, among other things, Pia de' Tolomei, If They're Not Crazy, We Don't Want Them and What Use is This Money? with Eduardo and Peppino De Filippo. He will be Director of Cinecittà from the moment of its foundation, of the Experimental Center and of the Film Censorship Commission. During the war he began working on a film, then abandoning production; Vittorio De Sica will take up the project and complete it with the title La porta del cielo. After the war he made some documentaries on the figurative arts. Since the beginning of the 1950s, no trace of Pratelli has been lost, no exact information is known about his activities, at least those relating to cinema.
