Pierluigi Praturlon Biography
Praturlon Pierluigi (Rome, 1924-1999) Pierluigi Praturlon began his career as a "street photographer" in 1946 and only a few years later he became the "Prince" of stage photography, working from 1959 to 1987 for the main films of Cinecittà and Hollywood. He photographed the most acclaimed masterpieces in the history of films: Ben Hur, Cleopatra, Grand Prix, La Dolce Vita, Amarcord, La Ciociara. He developed direct relationships with actors and film directors and worked as the official photographer of film icons such as Sophia Loren, Claudia Cardinale, Marcello Mastroianni, Monica Vitti, Frank Sinatra. Photology published his first and only monograph in 2006, entitled “Pierluigi. On Cinema”, a film survey of the Italian and American film industry during the 1950s and 1960s.
