Pugliese Levi Clemente (Vercelli, 1855 - Milan, 1936) Clemente Pugliese Levi enrolled at the Albertina Academy in Turin under the teaching of Enrico Gamba. He dedicated himself to painting genre subjects, but the meeting with Antonio Fontanesi brought him closer to landscape painting, with particular attention paid above all to the Impressionists. From 1906 he approached late Lombard naturalism with a more fluid painting, similar to that of Fontanesi and that of the pointillists, favoring light tones. He began summer stays on Lake Orta, which became his favorite subject together with Alpine views.
