Enzo Pulejo Biography

Enrico Pulejo (1930 - ), artist of Apulian origin, born in Bari in 1930 and currently resident in Salento, in Cutrofiano (Lecce), lived in Rome in 1950-60, in the period in which the foundations of informal thought were being shaped, and immediately created a completely autonomous and unmistakable style, albeit inspired by great contemporaries such as Hartung, Marini and Moore. The abstract expressionism of the canvases underlies a structuralist system of Russian origin, which symbolically evokes moments of meditation through ochres, earths, white spaces and shades of colour. In the perfect balance between the profession of architect and the poetics of an artist, Pulejo elaborated from the beginning a completely personal informal idea, contaminated by a sentimental and evocative vein, which contains the meaning of his own experience.
