Ferdinando Quintavalla Biography
Ferdinando Quintavalla (1951 - ) was born in Parma on 16 June 1951. Even as a child he had always been attracted to drawing; the association with Professor Bandini, an esteemed and well-known painter from Parma as well as a teacher of painting, who was also strongly convinced of Quintavalla's abilities and creativity, contributed to the development and training of the artist. He has participated in numerous competitions and events, including international ones, always achieving flattering success with both critics and the public. At a very young age he won the public prize at the "Dante Alighieri" Cultural Club in 1967 and, again in 1970, the first prize of the Municipality of Fidenza "The School, the Factory, the Italian Society 25 years after the Resistance". At the same time an intense exhibition activity also began, with both personal and collective exhibitions. In 2003, the Culture Department of the municipality of Parma, on the occasion of the commemoration of the anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi's death, hosted his exhibition entitled "Emotions for Verdi", in the San Ludovico Gallery. Graphics are also a source of great satisfaction for the artist. The artist lives and works in the province of Parma.
