Founded in 2015 by Kasper De Backer and Robrecht Lambrechts, multidisciplinary design studio Raak (2015 - ) showcases the two designers' distinctive approach to design. After studying industrial product design together, at the University College of West Flanders, the designers explored their creativity on different paths. Kasper De Backer worked with an acclaimed London studio, while Robrecht Lambrechts moved to New York for a period to work with a Manhattan-based design studio. Raak brings together the experience and dedication of designers to create contemporary products that blend craftsmanship and modern technology. All of the studio's projects are characterized by an exploration of materials, textures and volumes. Functional and elegantly simple, the products marry artisanal techniques with a minimalist aesthetic.
