Andrea Raccagni (Imola, 1921- 2005) After graduating from the University of Bologna in Agricultural Sciences, starting from 1941 he dedicated himself to painting, attending the studios of the painters Della Volpe and Margotti in Imola and that of Giorgio Morandi in Bologna. Starting from 1948, he exhibited in national and international exhibitions, distinguishing himself with prizes and mentions. The artist wins seven national competitions for public works with works in mosaic, bronze and painting. He holds personal exhibitions in Bologna, Florence, Milan, Panna, Ferrara, Faenza, Forli, Rome, Rimini, Ravenna, Imola, San Marino and Riccione. In addition to painting, he also deals with poetry, receiving some awards and mentions and publishing the short poem Soldato in 1952. He is interested in art criticism, holds numerous conferences on art and becomes a teacher of contemporary art at the Open University of Imola. For his artistic production in 1986 he received the "Premio Ambiente" in Crodo (Novara) and in Lugano the recognition "Clarus Magister 1987" and "Magister Pleclarus 1988".
