Edival Ramosa Biography
Edival Ramosa, artist of Brazilian origin, was born in 1940. In the period from 1964 to 1974, he settled in Milan, where he attended the studios of Arnaldo Pomodoro, Lucio Fontana and Enrico Baj. In that same period of time, from 1969 to 1973, he collaborated with 49 other well-known Italian and foreign artists, including Baj and Man Ray, in the Polimero Arte laboratories offered by Mazzucchelli 1849 spa, to create works of art in plastic material. These works now find permanent expression at the MAP Museo Arte Plastica in Castiglioni di Monteruzzo, Varese, inaugurated in 2004. Ramosa has held numerous solo exhibitions, both in Italy and in his native Brazil, as well as in Australia. In September 2000 he organized an exhibition of painting and sculpture entitled "Imitações Rituais Indígenas", at the Oficina de Arte Maria Teresa Vieira, Rio de Janeiro. Upon his return to Brazil, he opened his own artistic studio in Rio de Janeiro. He lived in Sao Paulo since 1980, and passed away here in 2015.
