Michael Ranny, born July 30, 1946 in Brno, was an artist who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under the guidance of Professor Frantisek Jiroudek. The artist, particularly interested in landscapes, mainly used ink drawings and watercolors to create his works. Among his favorite subjects we can find the slopes of Tishnovsk, stones and the sea, which were used as archetypes to express his unique lyrical expression. The first organic forms leave room for geometric organization and a greater minimalist expressive reduction. Michael Ranny died in Prague on 6 February 1981.
