Giacomo Recco (1603, Naples - 1653, Naples) was an Italian Baroque painter specializing in floral portraits.
In 1961, he was the subject of a study by art historian Raffaello Causa, who reattributed a work originally attributed to Giovanni da Udine to him, and attributed previously anonymous works such as "Vase of Flowers of Cardinal Poli" and "Vase of flowers from the Spada family". The paintings feature vases, with flowers arranged in rays against a dark background.
His works are present in the most prestigious Italian and international collections.
His son, Giuseppe Recco, became an artist himself and, around 1632, was the teacher of the still life painter Paolo Porpora.
