Carlo Riccardi, born in Olevano Romano on 3 October 1926 and died in Rome on 13 December 2022, was an important Italian photographer, photojournalist and painter. He began working as a retoucher in a photo-painting studio in Rome and subsequently, in 1944, followed the American troops to Naples. His photographic career lasted over seventy years and documented social life, the economy, the union, life in the fields and the Italian "dolce vita". He has immortalized celebrities such as Greta Garbo, the Beatles and politicians such as Giorgio Napolitano.
