Richard Schultz (1926) Richard Schultz is a furniture design manager. He studied at Iowa State University and the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. Schultz joined Knoll in 1951 to work with Harry Bertoia. He also studied basic design at the Philadelphia College of Art and held a solo exhibition of his sculptures at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. In 1972 he separated from Knoll and in 1992 he founded Richard Schultz Designs in Palm, Pennsylvania with his son. In 2012 Knoll bought Richard Schultz's company.
