Giuseppe Riva (Ivrea, 4 November 1834 – 10 November 1916) was an Italian painter. He is known for portraits, history paintings and landscapes. In 1872 he exhibited some half-length portraits at the Milan International Exhibition. In Rome in 1883 the painting Two Shepherdesses received great praise. At the Italian General Exhibition in Turin in 1884 he presented the painting Caterina de' Medici surprised by Mary Stuart while reading; in another Fine Arts exhibition in 1898 he proposed Ultimi instanti by Cola di Rienzi, Tribuno di Roma.
